In this episode of the Salty Nerd Podcast, we're talking about movies that ROCK. Well, movies that are about rock bands, anyway.
First up we have the semi-autobiographical story of a boy and his 1970s rock band, Almost Famous. Cameron Crowe's love letter to 70s rock & roll, and introducing us to the gorgeous Kate Hudson as Penny Lane. And who can forget the classic Elton John Tiny Dancer bus karaoke scene? So prepare to be a Golden God as the nerds discuss this film.
Next is the classic mockumentary that ratchets everything up to eleven - This Is Spinal Tap. One of Jude's all-time favorite movies, her and Kadish have to defend their love of the film to Vader and Alex as they recap all the hilarity of this fake rock band who can't seem to keep their drummers alive.
Last up is the 90s comedy Airheads, where Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler take a radio station hostage so they can get their music out to the masses. Noted for its ability to turn Lone Rangers into a plural, and it's amazing cast, does this movie hold up? Or is it just a knobgobbler?
