This mission, should you choose to accept it, is to listen to the Salty Nerds get drunk and talk about Tom Cruise and his first three Mission Impossible movies. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds.
But before it does, the Nerds look at the first Mission: Impossible film, directed by Brian De Palma which started the whole MI franchise off with Tom Cruise not only starring, but producing as well. Lots of iconic scenes and great actors in this movie, but does it hold up due to its lack of action?
Next up, the Nerds talk about Mission: Impossible 2, which over-corrected with the action and a ton of slow motion (and flying doves) thanks to legendary action director John Woo. But even though the movie looks pretty and has lots of action, is the story any good?
Finally, there's JJ Abrams entry into the M:I franchise with Mission Impossible 3, which successfully blends the thriller elements of the first film with the action elements of the second. Sure, it's written by Alex Kurtzman, but does that mean it's a bad movie? The Nerds debate this.
