Todd Phillips “wanted nothing to do with DC” during the making of the film Joker 2 (aka Joker: folie a deux), says one agent familiar with the director’s unique carve-out, which allowed him to bypass any oversight from the brand’s gatekeepers. Although James Gunn has publicly supported the film on social media, Todd Phillips has distanced himself from DC and seems to have an "F the Fans" mentality when it comes to his unwanted sequel to a billion dollar comic book film.
