In this episode of the Salty Nerd Podcast, the nerds talk about Human Simulation Movies - movies that explore various aspects of the virtual world, the metaverse, and how Sims can replace humans and real-world experiences.
First up is the cheese-tastic Bruce Willis film Surrogates, about a future where people can inhabit android bodies from the comfort of their own home so they don't have to interact with the real world. It's got some interesting social commentary and really bad wigs in it.
Next is the manic movie GAMER, about humans who allow themselves to be taken over - for both bloodsport and depravity - and one man's quest to save his wife from lots of buttstuff by participating in basketball dance battles.
Finally, the Nerds discuss the ultimate membaberry movie, Ready Player One, and how it's probably the most realistic take on a Metaverse that we currently have, as they try to recall every single nostalgic pop culture reference in the movie.
