It was recently announced that Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy see Daisy Ridley's Red as the key to the future of Star Wars in the cinema. With multiple new Star Wars movie projects in the works, apparently Lucasfilm and Disney see Rey as their only current cinematic asset for Star Wars.
