The Salty Nerds share their Foundation Episode 1 Review as they talk about this epic science fiction series from AppleTV, based on the classic novels of the same name from Isaac Asimov.
Foundation Episode 1, The Emperor's Peace, introduces us to the world of Asimov's Galactic Empire, which spans the entire Milky Way galaxy and is comprised of tens of thousands of planets.
There are lots of interesting ideas and political intrigue at play in the show, which is mostly based around psychohistory and its creator, Hari Seldon (played by the amazing Jared Harris) which can predict the future using mathematics and statistical models, and shows the downfall of the Empire and a long period of war and strife following its destruction.
Feelings are mixed about the show around the Salty Nerd table. Book purists don't like it, but those ignorant of the adaptation changes think the show is one of those rare high-brow science fiction shows that is really interesting.
